Random wishes

Since I spend so much time roaming around on the online bead shops from all over the world, but not always come to an actual purchase I have a huuuuuuuuuge wish list. Sometimes it is just random chance that makes me end up buying something or not. Anyway, I thought I'd share a few of my latest wishes. It's not likely I will get them in the nearest month or so. So maybe you also take a fancy, and decide to go for it. Please do, and then use them in your creations. That way I would get my satisfaction anyway.

Bead Table Wednesday - 27th of August

Hey, I did pearl knotting on silk cord today! For the first time. I followed this great tutorial from BeadAholique. Used the tweezers I ordered last week, which apparently are necessary. And I followed the advice from Erin Siegel to choose a silk cord size the largest possible to go through the holes of the beads. Thank you again Erin! And I went for my son Conrad's suggestion for the color on the silk to go with the purple pearls. Soooooo yummie, don't you agree.
Ok, so it didn't turn out perfect. But I am pleased anyway. And I know what I will make out of the string I knotted. But I'm not gonna tell you, coz I might submit it to a magazine. :-)

Oh, and I just have to share this photo also, of all of the lads of the family sitting in a line opposite me at breakfast this morning. Gotta adore them, don't you.
Conrad and Mark are looking at our female cat Alice climbing the wooden structure by our veranda. Charlie is more concerned with what's on the table.

All my best! And see you soon!

A rush of blood for an enameled bezel

The C-Koop bezel from Lorelei Eurto's Shadow Box Challenge arrived yesterday. I was so lucky to be one of the winners to get one of them.

Mine has such a wonderful color. I bet all of them do. A photo really can't do it justice. I am really excited, and have "one million" ideas. I don't know yet if any of them will be possible to make come true though ... I can only hope so far ... and which one of the ideas shall I choose to be the one I will go for ...

This project is really really inspiring me. Both as it is a bezel, which I have never used one before, and that it is enameled - gotta love enamel, and wow - that color - such a deep deep red - it's like blood - without being macabre - it's absolutely magnificent! Absolutely M A G N I F I C E N T ! ! !

And the prospect of that there will be at least 25 other's who also will have had fun with their bezels, and that I will be able to look, compare and get aha's and so on on the blog hop day is something I really am looking forward to.

I fell asleep last night with one idea in my head, and honestly I woke up with a new one right there. My mind must have been totally obsessed during the night. And I can easily see many varieties on those ideas. The problem of how to actually manufacture what I am seeing then creates new ideas. Wow wow wow!

I love to feel like this! Thank you so so much Sara and Lorelei!!!!

The reveal/Hop date will be August 27th.

I fell in love with Tari Sasser's, and I wanna be just like Jess Italia

These are a few of the items in the newest design by Tari Sasser of Creative Impressions in Clay or Clay Buttons. I am in loooove! And have just now ordered two links/connectors and two round beads (had some money on my PayPal account from a sold item luckily enough, great secret stash for moments like this). Different color combos of my own choice on all of them.
Tari is this months Art Bead Partner at Vintaj. Here is a link to the Vintaj blog post, which also includes a tutorial for a photo transfer technique. I am quite eager to try that now. My godness, I just can't add another thing I wish to learn on my wish list. This bracelet made by Jess Italia Lincoln of Vintaj is sooooo nice.

All my best!

Being featured is such an honor!

Thank you so much Erin and Lorelei for wanting to feature me on your blog A Jewelry Accord. I am truly honoured. And I am also excited like a little child. I wanna shout out to everyone: "See, see! They want to tell about me. ME!"

(Please go to their blog to read the article, this picture below is just a way for me to show off a bit :-))
Erin Siegel and Lorelei Eurto are the runners of the blog A Jewelry Accord. And if you didn't already know, they are quite well known in the jewelry world. Often seen in magazines and other public arenas. I personally get a lot of inspiration from both of them. They are currently working on a book which I believe will share name with the blog. The blog is a way to make it possible for people who are interested to stay updated on the work of the book, and also a way of promoting it of course. Erin and Lorelei are passionate about using fibers, cords and all sorts of textile elements in jewelry. And that's why they are writing the book. To explore the possibilities of these materials, to learn more, and to share their knowledge, new or old, with others who are equally excited (like my self for example). I believe this book will be a great source for inspiration and information.

The blog has recently expanded a bit, and they just started a series of designer portraits, where they will feature jewelry designers they find make interesting use of cord, leather and so on in their creations. So I am number two in this series. Last week you could read about Keirsten Giles, another favorite of mine.

Below is the collage they put together of some of my work.
So did I tell you that I am very honored?! And excited?! Well, I am. Thank you!

I wish you a all great weekend. And a great holiday if yours also start now, like it does for me and my family. I think I will keep making a lot of macrame for the nearest period. Simply because I am currently a bit hooked, and also I can sit basically anywhere doing it, I don't have to be inside in my studio on all these lovely summers days.

See ya!

BTW - I have a good life ...

... especially on a day like this. What else could you wish for? Sitting on your veranda on a lovely summers day making jewelry.
This is my Bead Table Wednesday for today.
Bracelet for my dear friend Caroline.
This is what I, at times, dream other designer's would do. So I thought I'd better give it a go myself. Hope I am starting a trend now. :-)More macrame bracelets.

All my best!

Today I learned something about David Watts ...

... that I didn't already know. I have loved this song ever since it was released by The Jam on the album All Mod Cons in 1978. But guess what! It actually is a Kinks song originally. What do you know! Anyway, enjoy!

I think I will have to listen to the whole album now. Loud! Or I'll wait until tomorrow, when no one else is here. :-)
