Waiting and Wishing

So, what do you do when you have used up your whole shopping budget for the month AND borrowed from next month's one? Because I just HAD to buy one of Lorelei and Shannon's beatiful Lima kits. I am so happy I managed to get my hands on one of them. (I saw they have already sold out.)

You dream away, don't you. At least that's what I do. I dream and wish I could get all of the things in the collage below.

And what do you know - as I just now uploaded both the pictures to this post, I realized they kind of share the same color scheme. Is that a coincidence? Or have I been so heavily influenced by Lorelei and Shannon's pick? But, most of these things have been on my wish list for quite some time already. Well, I did of course make a selection today when I did put this collage together. And I decided I would not have a theme at all. Hm, interesting anyway, isn't it. Maybe that was why I fell so completely for the kit. A strong color longing within.

Karin of Fru Parla, a Swedish shop for beads and supplies, always keeps a good selection of colored leather bands. Along with lots of other nice and fun and different things. I hope to meet her personally on the 10th of October when she will sell at a bead show in Taby, on the outskirts of Stockholm.

I have wished for this book for quite some time now. And just recently it was released as an ebook. That is so great I think. I am sure it will slip into my shopping cart next time I visit the Interweave shop.

I love Jennifer's little art-pieces/collages/illustrations. I would like a whole group of them together on a wall in my house. And a few more here and there to make me happy as I am moving through the house.

Since I spend so much time roaming around on the online bead shops from all over the world, but not always come to an actual purchase I have a huuuuuuuuuge wish list. Sometimes it is just random chance that makes me end up buying something or not. Anyway, I thought I'd share a few of my latest wishes. It's not likely I will get them in the nearest month or so. Oh the lustings, the cravings, the needs! The czech glass beads. I've taken pictures from all over the net and made some collages of the ones I particularly wish for.
Does anyone of you remember Radka? My neighbour, famous for being so wonderfully outrageous on several occasions.Do you remember where she comes from? Oh yes! She is from the Czech Republic. And she has offered to get me beads next time she goes there. This is part of my wish list you see here.
Please Radka, go and see your family again soon!

Wishful #15

For my studio I would like a group of this style of crocheted rag bowls and baskets in various sizes and shapes. To keep pens, tools, and bits and bobs that I need handy on the table top. I like the ones in pale/worn colours, like this one by HippieChicDesigns.

But then again I just can't resist this one by TheKeepersHouse. Very yummy colours. To be hung on the wall.

I don't think I have ever followed an instruction to the letter. Basically I never follow instructions, full stop (whatever that says about me?). But LOOOK at this bracelet by Marcie at La Bella Joya. I HAVE to make it. So soon I will get my first Tila beads, which I've been so keen on ever since they where first launched. I will choose other colours, but apart from that I will follow her Tutorial exactly. Gotta get that one too of course.

2011, and I am wishing for elephants

Ever since I was a child I have liked elephants. I kind of collected them. Had many cuddly toys for instance. And have you seen that nature film about elephants that mourne their dead? They stop at the spot where someone died years ago and stand still for a day or so. Very moving to see. And later the whole flock goes on a search for a missing young one. They just don't give up, and when the mum and the child finally see each other from a distance they start running, and it is so beautiful. David Attenburgh narrating. I cry rivers. They really are such magnificent animals.

Now I am at it again. I am lusting to add beautiful elephants in my jewellery. I am calling all art bead makers to create toggles, beads, pendants or anything that could be used in my jewellery. Your own personal interpretation of the elephant/s. And I am hereby calling first dibs on your pieces! Thank you!

Wishful #12

Hi, I have realized I have started posting my "Wishful" series on different weekdays, so I have decided to rename it to simply "Wishful # ..".

ArtMind on Etsy is a lady called Mitsy living in Belgium. Among other things she has been making a series of sculptures called 99 feelings'-project. Below I have quoted her own description of this project. Oh, how I fell in love with these sculptures. I would just loooove to have a series of them placed in a row. The picture above is a montage I made with pictures from her shop on Etsy.

"This ceramic art object is part of my ‘99 feelings’-project. It derives from a project I did many years ago reflecting my self-portrait. I called it ‘how the outside can tell how you feel inside’. I started out with 9 feelings and then I suddenly thought of making 99 of them... I like the fact that the number is uneven and that it leaves at least one feeling to complete to 100. That one unfinished feeling to make 100, represents for me all the feelings I haven't covered and that it can be anything...

It is a series of babushka’s where I added a texture or addition to it on the outside. Quite often, these textures or additions lead you to the feeling right away or sometimes it might recall a complete different feeling for you. That is perfectly possible as this is just what it evokes for me. It can be anything you feel as there is no 'right' feeling for it. Each feeling is subjective and personal. My sculptures are created as art objects. A lot of time and love goes into each one.

Anyway, I have also, as I bet quite a few of you also have, discovered the new feature on Etsy called "the Circle". And it is thanks to that one I discovered this artist. Someone in my own circle had marked a bunny sculpture as her favourite. It made me curious, and I went to have a look.
